This is the most frequent question I receive from investors these days.
Both candidates are expert government administrators, tough, hardly charismatic, but know their ropes around bureaucratic government.
Government bureaucracy is definitely one of our bottlenecks, and both candidates will do an excellent job in putting government to work. In fact that is what both are doing know, Dilma as Chief of Staff, and Serra as Governor of São Paulo.
Lula was more easy going, and would rather make friends than enemies. Serra and Dilma are more like hatchet men, not afraid of making enemies to get things done.
Brazilian government needs "No"men once in a while, and both will do the job.
Both will accumulate more enemies than Lula, and their Presidency's will be definitely more bumpier, politically at any rate. But results will be even better than with Lula.
Both will be "let get the job done" type of Presidentes, and the fact both are Center Left, in this case is a bonus.
So quite frankly, this Presidential election is a non-event, not to worry about, both candidates are very similar. If Dilma gets Harvard Business School graduate Henrique Mairelles as Vice President, that may be a plus.
But Serra's daughter Veronica, went to Harvard Business School. In fact one of her 3 reccomendation letters was actually mine. Very bright girl, and someone Serra listens to.
